Werner Heimers wrote Aus dem Engadin (From Engadin), two pieces with Piano (At Lake Sils and Elegia); appealing music. He pays homage to the Engadin in another composition, this time for Clarinet, Viola and Piano: Aus Rätien (From Rhaetia). The three movts express the ties of the composer to the Engadin in happy-contemplative impressionistic pictures. In addition he had the courage to arrange «The Moldau» by Smetana for Violin and Viola (see Smetana).
