Tenebre, op. 32, for Viola and Piano

In July 2012 my wife bought a small oil painting (27 x 22 cm) with the title Soffio (Breeze). Paolo Pola painted it in 1986 in Paris. I was immediately fascinated by the composition of the picture and the subject matter. At first I did not know that the painting was created shortly after the death of Pola's father. In Tebebre, I tried to musically condense everything that occupied me in the examination of the painting. I wrote it in 2012 and assigned it to Paolo Pola. Roger Faedi
